Indulge Yourself Every Now and Then

We are always so caught up in our hectic lives. Even while we are being financially successful, getting our daily exercises in and eating healthy, we sometimes forget to treat that one special person who made it all happen. Yes, you! Indulging yourself can come in so many different ways, and it is a way to reward and thank yourself for being the best it can be.

My favourite indulgent is going to the spa and getting a relaxing facial. But we can't always afford expensive facials; a great spin is a a nice soothing homemade mask after a long day of work. Two new masks that I have recently discovered involve the use of yogurt. Yogurt is natural, unlike a lot of chemical ingredients you find in drugstores nowadays. Perfect for all types of skins.. indulge yourself!

Mask #1 - Honey Yogurt
You need:
  • 1 tbsp natural yogurt, room temperature (not lowfat or non-fat)
  • 1 tsp runny honey (microwave for a few minutes to soften hardened honey)
How to :

Combine mixture, then apply to face.
Let sit for 15 minutes.
Wash face with steaming washcloth.
For dry skin, use an extra tsp of honey.
Oily skin? Add a few drops of fresh lime juice.

Mask #2 - Strawberries
Strawberries are natural sources of salicylic acid which is what most acne cleanser contains to fight acne and bacteria on your skin.

You need:
  • 1/4 cup strawberries (fresh, not frozen please)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream or non-flavored yogurt
How to:
Mash together the strawberries and yogurt or sour cream.
Spread on face and wash after 10-15 minutes.
